The most important thing to know about any Nuclear Medicine procedure is that the radioactive tracers are very unlikely to produce any side effects or make you feel any different. Nuclear Medicine procedures are extremely safe and there is no risk to anyone with a history of iodine contrast reactions or renal impairment. The radiation doses are very low and comparable to other diagnostic procedures such as CT scans and X-rays.

Just like Radiologists, Nuclear Medicine Physicians are highly committed to keeping the radiation exposure to patients as low as possible using our state-of-the-art machines and using the smallest amount of radioactive tracer as possible to provide diagnostic information.
